Stars come out for Dick Vitale’s Mad for March Party raising money for cancer research
Vitale hosting his Mad for March Party raising money for pediatric cancer research through The V Foundation.
ESPN Basketball Analyst Jerod Ward also using his platform to combat the horrible disease.
“All of us come out for the exact same reason because we care,” Ward said. We are passionate about giving back to the community and doing all we can.”
Sports Stars mingled with young cancer survivors at the annual gala at the Ritz
Raising money for the Jimmy V Foundation, which focuses on funding cancer research at Dick Vitale’s gala.
“Dick Vitale sets the bar high — which he should,” former pro basketball player and current collegiate basketball analyst Jerod Ward said. “He really reaches out to the community in sports and the community here in Sarasota. The community does a great job of coming out and responding. If we can continue to raise awareness and raise money for cancer — and especially pediatric cancer — then that’s a plus.”
Ward borrowed one of Vitale’s signature phrases when he was describing how much the event has grown over the years: “Awesome with a capital A.”
